How can we help?

Getting started

Is CarsGuyana free?

Yes. Browsing, saving listings, alerts and posting are free. Every account can have one car and one part listed at a time at no cost. Paid extras (featuring, extra listing slots and Dealer) are optional; see Pricing.

Do I need an account to look at cars?

No. Anyone can browse and contact sellers. You need a free account to post, to save listings with the heart, and to get price-drop or new-listing emails.

Can I have more than one account?

No. Each person may have one account, and a phone number or email address can belong to one account only. New accounts that share a phone number, email address, device or connection with an existing account may be refused or removed.

I forgot my password. What do I do?

On the log in page, choose "Forgot your password?" and we will email you a link to set a new one.

Buying

How do I contact a seller?

Open the listing and use the buttons under "Contact seller". Depending on what the seller chose, you can reveal their phone number, message them on WhatsApp, or email them. You deal with the seller directly; we are not part of the sale.

Does CarsGuyana check the cars?

Our team reviews every new listing after it goes live and removes ones that break our rules. We do not inspect vehicles or check documents, so always see the car in person, have a mechanic look at it, and check the papers before you pay.

How do I avoid scams?

Never pay a deposit for a car you haven't seen. Meet in a public place, bring someone with you, check that the name on the Certificate of Registration matches the seller's ID, and that the chassis number on the car matches the papers. Be wary of prices far below similar cars. CarsGuyana will never ask you to pay for a vehicle.

What does "Below market" or "Fair price" mean on a listing?

Once there are at least five cars of the same model on the site, we compare the price with them, adjusting for year and mileage. It is a guide from listings on CarsGuyana only, not a valuation.

How do I get told about new cars or price drops?

Tap the heart on a listing to save it; if the seller lowers the price we email you. On any search, tap "Alert me" and we email you each morning when something new matches. Manage both under Alerts in your hub.

Can I search for right-hand drive only?

Yes. On Browse, open Filters and choose Steering: Right-hand drive.

Selling

How do I post a listing?

Tap Sell (or Post a Listing), choose a car or a part, add photos and the details, then post. It goes live straight away.

Is there a minimum price?

Cars must be listed at GYD 200,000 or more. Parts have no minimum.

Do I have to show my phone number?

No. On the listing form you choose how buyers can reach you: show your phone number, WhatsApp, show your email address, or any mix of these, as long as you pick at least one. We still keep your number privately on your account.

How many photos can I add?

Up to 12. The first is the cover; use the arrows to reorder them. Photos are resized on your phone before upload, which also removes the location data phones hide inside photos.

I sold my car. What should I do?

In your hub, tap Sold on the listing and confirm. It comes off the site and frees your listing slot. You can tell us what it sold for (kept private, used only anonymously for price comparisons). Changed your mind? You can reopen it within 7 days.

How do I change the price?

In your hub, tap Price on the listing, type the new price and save. People who saved your listing are emailed when the price goes down.

Why can't I post another listing?

A free account can have one car and one part live at a time. Mark a sold one as Sold to free its slot, add an extra listing slot (GYD 249.99, yours to keep), or get a Dealer pass for unlimited listings.

Can I list the same car twice or from another account?

No. Each vehicle may be listed from one account only. Accounts created later that list the same vehicle are removed permanently, without refund.

Parts

Can I sell car parts?

Yes. Choose "Parts" when you post. Say what it is, its condition (new, used or rebuilt), whether it is genuine or aftermarket, the part number if you have it, and which makes, models and years it fits.

How do I find a part for my car?

Go to Parts and search, or filter by category, the make it fits and the model. Always confirm with the seller that it fits your exact vehicle, ideally using the part number.

Paperwork, loans and import duty

How do I transfer ownership?

Buyer and seller go together to a GRA Licence Revenue Office with the original Certificate of Registration, both TINs and IDs, and a bill or agreement of sale. The fee is GYD 25,000 or 2% of the price, whichever is more. Full checklist: Transfer guide.

How much will a car loan cost me each month?

Use our car loan calculator. It also compares the vehicle loan terms Guyana's banks publish. Banks set your actual rate when you apply.

How much duty will I pay to import a car?

Use the import duty estimator, built from GRA's published rates. Vehicles 4 years or older pay excise only; newer ones pay duty, excise and VAT depending on engine size.

Privacy and your account

What information do you collect?

Your account details, what you post, and technical details such as your IP address used to stop duplicate accounts and fraud. Card details go to Stripe, not us. Full details in the Privacy Policy.

Why does the site ask for my location?

Only if you tap "Use my location" next to the featured listings. It puts nearby cars first. Your location stays in your own browser and is never sent to us.

How do I stop the emails?

In your hub, open Alerts: turn off price-drop emails and pause or delete search alerts. Every email also has a link there.

How do I delete my account?

Delete your listings in your hub, then email admin@caribbeandynetics.com from the address on your account and we will close it.
